Human Follicular dendritic reticulum cells (FDCs) - HK (FDC/HK)
Organism:Homo sapiens (human)
Age:Unknown, child
Gender:Unspecified; female, acc. to STR analysis conducted at CLS in-house
Tissue:Tonsils
Morphology:Fibroidal
Cell type:Follicular Dendritic reticulum
Growth Properties:Adherent
Description:The cell line was established from tonsillar tissue after routine tonsillectomy of a child in 1994 by Kim et al. In coculture with activated (anti-CD40/anti-µ) human lymphocytes soluble factors are released by HK which support growth of normal and malignant lymphocytes.
hDFSCs (Human Dental Follicle Stem cells) contain Mesenchymal Stem cells having multipotent /pluripotent properties. The cells are able to differentiate into osteogenic and adipogenic cells or tissues. The dental follicle is a loose connective tissue that surrounds the developing tooth. The DFSCs are isolated from vital teeth, mainly from Third Molars expressing incomplete root development from young donors (age from 15 to 25 years). Following enzymatic digestion and isolation via adherence the DFCs are being deep frozen in Passage 2 or 3 . DFSCs have been shown to be applicable in - Regenerative medicine (Defective surgery, traumatology) - Pharmacological tests - Comparative stem cell research - Basic research with respect to cell based therapy in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson, MS or in coronary diseases - Feeder layer cells for hHSCs and hES Tested for absence of contaminations such as Mycoplasma, Bacteria and Funghi. Tested positive for the Stem cell marker CD73, CD90 and CD105.Tested negative for HLA-DR. Tested for absence of HIV, HBV und HCV.The follicle stem cells are readily adherent and can be subcultured at least 10x times.
